A Unique Education

Cavina is a British-curriculum preparatory school rooted in Christian values for children aged two to 13.

As the purpose of life is to worship God and to enjoy Him forever (the words of the Westminster Confession of Faith), each school day begins with an act of Christian worship. This follows a simple format: singing a hymn, hearing God’s word (the Bible), listening to a brief exposition, and joining in a communal prayer.

Every Friday, the house captains arrange morning devotions in separate venues and review the progress made by their respective houses during the week. In House Assemblies, we use the Book of Common Prayer, which has set Scripture readings for every Sunday in the year.

We make no secret of our desire to see that those who study here will be drawn into a closer relationship with only Saviour this world has (Christ Jesus). While we recognize that only God makes Christians, He has left it to his people to ensure that the impressionable young hear the Gospel, for faith comes through hearing the Good News. What our pupils do with this precious knowledge is their responsibility. Under the influence of the Holy Spirit, they will have the courage to allow the truth to take hold of their hearts and set them free from ignorance and error. Such people are desperately needed in our post-Christian age

Spiritual life and intellectual enquiry form an important aspect of a Cavina education, with a strong emphasis on service and integrity. This, combined with a long record of academic excellence, the pursuit of adventure, sporting achievement, and an appreciation of culture, prepares its pupils for the next stage of their education, unlocking their full potential.

Set on a leafy site in the heart of Kilimani, Cavina encourages its pupils to identify and pursue their strengths with passion. We also believe in teaching children to think independently as we provide them with the tools to approach their futures with confidence and humility.

Many Cavina pupils win scholarships to the most prestigious senior schools in Kenya and abroad, with a number going on to pursue degrees at some of the world’s top academic institutions.
